Orchids Mindo Ecuador

Ecuador country of orchids

Did you know that Ecuador is known to have the most species of orchids in the world with 4,200 which is about 17% of all the species in the world, 1,700 of those are endemic and Ecuador also has the tiniest orchid in the world 0,082 inches or 2,1 millimeters in size?

Choco toucan reserve and bird lodge has a beautiful garden, well taken care of in order to share with our visitors our orchid , heliconia and ginger families collection. Here you will also find many other tropical flowers and plants that we have been collecting from all over the country including the amazon.

If you are really in to orchids and other special tropical flowers as i am, we also offer day tours to other orchid gardens in the area to enjoy additional species.
